DIY- Feed the Hippo

One year ago my dear nephew decided he is a Hippo, so for his 3rd B-day, I wanted to surprise him with a new friend…

I looked for inspiration for some time and then the “feed the hippo” concept was created!

It’s a simple game- the kid feeds the hippo by throwing plastic fruits into a hole in its body or mouth.

What do you need?

  • 1 big cardboard

  • Paint (most kinds will work, I used gouache due to it low price)

  • Black marker

  • Scissors

  • Cutting knife

  • Plastic fruits

  • Pencil

What should you do?

  • Draw the silhouette of the animal you would like to create on the cardboard (you can find nice silhouettes online).

  • Decide where to place the holes- I placed one in the mouth and one in the belly to create two different difficulty levels.

  • Cat the cardboard according to the silhouette using scissors or cutting knife.

  • Color the cardboard and let dry.

  • Add outlines with the black marker.

  • Optional- add decorations (I added glitter in the nails and teeth using hot glue).

Enjoy!
