DIY- Feed the Hippo

One year ago my dear nephew decided he is a Hippo, so for his 3rd B-day, I wanted to surprise him with a new friend…
I looked for inspiration for some time and then the “feed the hippo” concept was created!
It’s a simple game- the kid feeds the hippo by throwing plastic fruits into a hole in its body or mouth.
What do you need?
1 big cardboard
Paint (most kinds will work, I used gouache due to it low price)
Black marker
Scissors
Cutting knife
Plastic fruits
Pencil
What should you do?
Draw the silhouette of the animal you would like to create on the cardboard (you can find nice silhouettes online).
Decide where to place the holes- I placed one in the mouth and one in the belly to create two different difficulty levels.
Cat the cardboard according to the silhouette using scissors or cutting knife.
Color the cardboard and let dry.
Add outlines with the black marker.
Optional- add decorations (I added glitter in the nails and teeth using hot glue).
Enjoy!
